Texarkana to Host ‘Safety Day: Superhero Style’ at Spring Lake Park
Families here in Texarkana are invited to a SUPER-fun, educational event aimed at promoting everyday safety in a hands-on way. The City of Texarkana, Texas, is teaming up with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Communities Unlimited, and Community Healthcore to host Safety Day: Superhero Style on Saturday, April 26, from 11 AM to 2 PM at Spring Lake Park.
This free, family event will feature a bunch of interactive activities, demonstrations, and safety resources for all ages. Kids, they want to see your favorite Superhero costumes! So, suit-up Superhero, and get ready to have some super-fun.
Highlights Include:
- Bicycle Safety Demonstrations from TxDOT, offering tips on helmet use, traffic rules, and how to stay safe on two wheels.
- Fire Truck Exploration with the Texarkana Texas Fire Department, giving children a chance to climb aboard a fire truck and learn about firefighting tools and equipment.
- Car Seat Safety Guidance for expecting parents, with certified technicians demonstrating proper installation techniques and answering questions.
- Community Resource Booths, where local organizations will provide information on safety, health, and wellness.
This event is designed to connect families with vital safety information which is otherwise kind of hard to find.
“This is a great opportunity to bring safety education directly to our community in a fun and approachable way,” said Community Healthcore’s Stacy Tidwell.
