Texarkana Double Shooting Under Investigation: Two Victims Found 1/2 Mile Apart

Texarkana, Arkansas Police are investigating a shooting that took place Sunday evening (May 18) around 8:50 PM.

Police responded to several calls at the Village Park South Apartments located at 2225 East Street, where several people heard gunshots. Some of the callers said there might be a person shot near the back of the apartment complex. At the same time, officers also received a call about a possible shooting victim at the EZ Mart at 1205 East Street, which is a little over half a mile away. Officers are still trying to figure out if the two incidents are related.

When the Texarkana, Arkansas, Police officers, along with Miller County deputies, arrived at the apartment complex, they found 19-year-old Randy Page, a white male, had been shot.

Then at the EZ Mart store, they found another gunshot victim, this one was 20-year-old Artaja Mitchell, a black female. Also arrested on unrelated charges at the EZ Mart was a 20-year-old black male named Scirs Purifory.

Both of the shooting victims were taken to the hospital and treated for their injuries. This is an ongoing investigation.
