The City of Texarkana, Texas, has officially moved all Special Events Applications to a new online platform, making it easier for residents and organizers to submit and track event requests.

Online Submissions Are Now Required

Effective immediately, applications for festivals, parades, community gatherings, races, and other public events must be submitted through the MyGOV TXK permitting and management system. The portal allows users to file applications digitally, monitor their status, and receive updates directly through the platform.

Texarkana Site Streamlined and Efficient

City officials say the change is part of a broader effort to modernize services.

“We want to make the process easier and more accessible for everyone,” said Vashil Fernandez, Director of Planning, Community Development and Health.

He also noted that the MyGOV TXK system improves transparency and helps city departments coordinate more efficiently.

Fee and How to Apply

The Special Events application fee remains $25 and is payable online at the time of submission. Residents and event planners can access the portal by visiting MyGOV TXK and selecting “Apply for Permit.”
