Don’t Miss: Swan Lake in Texarkana, Perot Theatre, Sunday

We are in for a real treat this weekend at the Perot Theatre in historic downtown Texarkana.

The Perot Theatre brings wonderful culture and entertainment to our town. We are fortunate to have a wonderful symphony orchestra, plays, concerts and more. This Sunday is no exception as we have the opportunity to see the classic ballet Swan Lake presented by Classical Arts Entertainment and performed by the State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine.

Swan Lake in Texarkana, Do You Know The Story?

This ballet is a tragic story of a doomed love. It's about a princess named Odette who has been cursed along with her maids to be swans during the day and to take human form for only a few hours at night by a lake. The curse can only be broken by true love. That is when a prince named Seifried sees Odette and instantly falls in love with her. Thinking that the curse is broken all should be well but then an evil sorcerer named Von Rothbartman enters the picture and tricks the prince into thinking that his daughter is Odette.

I have always wanted to see this ballet for the tragic love story the beautiful set and choreography and the amazing score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. He also wrote the score to The Nutcracker.

Swan Lake at the Perot in Texarkana This Weekend

Swan Lake will be performed at the Perot Theatre this Sunday night, April 6, at 6 PM. Tickets are still available online here or at the Perot Theatre Box Office.  The Perot Theatre is located at 221 Main Street in Texarkana, Texas.
