Texarkana Man Arrested For Alleged Possession of Child Pornography

The Texarkana Texas Police arrested a 20-year-old Texarkana man for the alleged Possession of Child Pornography late last week.

After a search warrant was issued the TTPD arrested Trenton Weddel for Possession of Child Pornography with more than 50 items found at his apartment located in the 4600 block of Summerhill Road.

According to the press release, police were notified by the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children about Weddel and how a social media app notified the agency about the use of an IP address in Texarkana that had uploaded a pornographic video of a young girl.

Detective Casey Schmidt who was working the case, was able to identify Weddel as the owner of both the social media account and IP address that was in question. He found numerous videos and pictures of child pornography on Weddel's account and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Weddel was arrested at his apartment on Thursday morning September 12. A search warrant was served to locate any electronic and digital devices that might have evidence of child pornography.

Treton Weddel is currently being held in the Bi-State Jail with a $200,000 bond.

Based upon information that we received during this investigation, we know that children in the complex were routinely seen going into Weddel's apartment. While there's no direct evidence at this point that any of them were victimized, we are obviously concerned that something inappropriate might have happened.
