Here is some great news to not only Texas A&M University–Texarkana but to the Texarkana area as well, as the university is celebrating another major milestone.

They just announced they have had a record enrollment of students for the Spring 2026 semester. Even more outstanding is the fact that this now marks the seventh consecutive term the University has set a new enrollment record, highlighting continued growth and momentum on campus.

The Spring 2026 semester, which began on Monday, January 12, shows a 17 percent increase in enrollment compared to Spring 2025. Not only are more students enrolling, but they are also taking more classes. Semester Credit Hours are up 23 percent, which means a stronger engagement and academic commitment across the student body.

Texas A&M Texarkana Leaders Celebrate Momentum in Enrollment Numbers

University leaders say the continued growth is a sign that Texas A&M–Texarkana is moving in the right direction. President Dr. Ross Alexander said in a press release,

We are pleased to celebrate yet another consecutive term of unprecedented enrollment growth. It is reflective of our overall growth, momentum, and ascendancy as a university. I cannot wait until we see the gains for Fall!

Vice President of Enrollment Management Dr. Venus Lillis echoed the same sentiment, saying that the rising numbers represent more than demand. She said the growth shows a university that is expanding access and meeting students where they are.
