CMT nominee The Swon Brothers are celebrating the Memorial holiday weekend with a performance at Diamond Jacks Casino in Bossier City, La., on Saturday, May 23.The state of Oklahoma is a hotbed when it comes to producing some of country music's top talent such as Reba, Blake Shelton, Toby Keith, Vince Gill, Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood and now add The Swon Brothers to that list. From Muskogee, Okla., brothers Zach and Colton Swon remember opening shows for Carrie Underwood at a very early age. Then as the boys became pre-teens, they began performing in their parent's gospel group.

According to their website, Zach says, “We traveled with our parents every weekend playing churches. Ever since we were babies, we’ve been on the bus, hearing music and watching musicians. It’s definitely what got us turned on to music. I played instruments earlier than Colton; he was more the singer and stage performer. I started out on drums at age three, and by the time I was 9, I was playing drums for my parents’ band."

As the years went by, their parents eventually started doing a family variety-type show in which they played everything from Frank Sinatra to Elvis Presley. Colton remembers Zach really being a huge Elvis fan and went as far as dressing up like Elvis -- full suit and sideburns -- and would do a great impersonation of the legendary King of Rock 'n Roll.

Finally, with all the success they were having at home, it was time for the boys to broaden their horizons. So, in 2013, they auditioned for NBC's The Voice. It was on that show where the brothers automatically became a fan favorite with their good ol' southern charm and down-to-earth personalities. They eventually landed on Team Blake where they made it to the finals and into the Top 3 of season 4 of the singing competition.

After the show they landed a record deal with Arista Nashville, the same label as native Oklahoman Carrie Underwood. Talk about going full circle!

Their debut hit single "Later On" made it into the Top 20 on the country music charts from their self-titled album, which contains 11 songs including their latest single "Pray For You." This song is somewhat inspirational. "It touches those feelings about when you need something else, when things aren't working out the way you would of hoped," they said.

Zach and Colton may be in the early stages of their career but they have already been  nominated for "Vocal Duo of The Year" for the upcoming CMT Awards in June. The Swon Brothers were also recently nominated for the same award at the 50th Annual ACM Awards and are currently on tour with Brad Paisley.
