It’s that time of year again for the third annual CASA Colorful 5K Family Fun Run Sept. 19 September 19 at Trinity Baptist Church on the corner of Trinity Blvd., in Texarkana, Ark. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) serves the more than1,000 abused and neglected children in an 8 county area including Miller and Bowie.

Early registration is at 8 a.m. with a special children’s run at 8:30 a.m. and the cross-country track 5K at 9 a.m.

There will be a warm up conducted by Anytime Fitness trainers, children’s run led by Anytime Fitness runners, a bounce house, magician, sno-cones, samplings from Orange Leaf, food provided by Super I Foods and lots of fun as you are powdered on the trail.

The CASA Colorful 5K is named in Amanda Fussell Woodman’s honor for her many years of devotion to child abuse prevention in Texarkana and the surrounding 12 counties. Amanda worked tirelessly to promote the CASA for Children program, fundraising, recruiting and training volunteers along with her support for every aspect of the program.

This is the only color run in our area. Come join the fun to benefit children of child abuse.
