Tim McGraw is out on the road for a series of appearances to promote his new fitness book, Grit & Grace: Train the Mind, Train the Body, Own Your Life, and he's taking over Taste of Country's Instagram Stories to share highlights from his final in-store appearance.

McGraw released the book on Tuesday (Nov. 5), and he will appear at First Baptist Church in Austin at 7PM on Friday (Nov. 8), where he'll discuss Grit & Grace and sign copies of the book for fans on hand. He'll be joined by Aubrey Marcus for the special event, which is presented by Book People. According to his website, Marcus is "the founder and CEO of Onnit, a lifestyle brand based on a holistic health philosophy he calls Total Human Optimization."

McGraw will post highlights from before and after the event to Taste of Country's Instagram Stories.

McGraw is particularly excited that the new book gives him the opportunity to share his own journey to a healthier life over the last decade-plus, since he decided to quit drinking in 2008 after realizing that his drinking was getting out of hand. He says that, in addition to taking up regular exercise, has proven transformative not just in fitness, but in every important area of his life.

"I've gone through a physical transformation in the last ten years, but it's not just my appearance that has changed," he says in a press release announcing the book. "My mind is clearer, my sense of purpose is sharper, and my relationships are deeper. Consistent physical exercise helps me bring focus to my life and to the people who mean the most to me."
