
A First for Texas: TISD’s New Partnership Delivers Quick Aid to Students
Texarkana ISD just announced some great news. They have partnered up with Bright Futures USA to help meet students' needs quickly and quietly. TISD is now the first school district in the state of Texas to do this and bring help to students.
Discreet Help When It Matters Most For Students at TISD in Texarkana
Let's face it, being of school age is hard. Kids can be judgmental of those who might be less fortunate and not receive some necessities. So, does anyone need to know? No. That's why this is such a great program!

The national nonprofit can help kids usually within 24 hours to get things then need like food, clothes, hygiene products and school supplies.
A Community United for Student Success in Texarkana
The idea is simple but brilliant. When kids' basic needs are met, they can focus on other things, like learning. The program brings local volunteers, businesses and churches together to get a fast response time to the kids.
Superintendent Dr. Doug Brubaker said in a press release,
This partnership supports our kids and strengthens our entire community.
TISD will have a community engagement coordinator to connect with local groups.
TISD Chief Academic Officer Holly Tucker stated,
Meeting students’ basic needs quickly helps remove distractions and barriers to learning.
