Top 5 Actors Who Portrayed the President

Today I fulfilled my obligation as an American citizen and voted -- early. With record crowds expected to turn out for tomorrow's presidential election I'm glad I did as lines weren't too bad today. No matter who you vote for tomorrow you can know you exercised your right to vote for the candidate of your choosing. Voting is still one of the greatest privileges we have in the United States of America.

So, I got to thinking today with all the political mud slinging and nastiness this campaign garnered wouldn't it be kind of cool to take a moment to be somewhat lighthearted and wonder what life would be if we had a chance to elect a movie star who has played a president in some previous movies?

I'm going to give you my five favorite actors who I think portrayed the president to perfection. Let me know who your favorite is of these five.

1. Morgan Freeman

His voice alone demands respect. In the movie Deep Impact he played the cool and calm president who saved the world from a threatening asteroid. My favorite role was in the movie Olympus Has Fallen where he became president because the real president got kidnapped by terrorists.

2. Harrison Ford

In the movie Air Force One, Ford played a tough as nails Commander in Chief especially when terrorists took over his plane. Most famous line from the movie "Get Off My Plane."

3. Bill Pullman

In the movie Independence Day Pullman played a president with a steady hand to fight off invading aliens that were set to destroy our planet. Who could we forget the line "Today we celebrate our Independence?"

4. Michael Douglas

In this movie The American President portrays a man whose popularity rating is off the charts and decides to re-run for the presidency.

5. Aaron Eckhart

In this movie Olympus Has Fallen, Eckhart plays the president who gets kidnapped when a band of terrorists take over the White House.

And I have to mention the new ABC show "Designated Survivor" which has Kiefer Sutherland who is forced into becoming the president after an attack on the State of the Union Address that wipes out everyone in congress including the president and VP.
