Even though the weather has been cooler than normal, summer is right around the corner. The natural state has plenty of great swimming holes that will remind you of your childhood -- swinging off a tree into the water or jumping off some bluff. Bring on summertime!

Located in the Ouachita National Forest in Glenwood this has always been a favorite place to swim or wade in the cool refreshing waters and falls.

Located near Heber Springs, I was just here a couple of week ago and the wooded forest and serene beauty that surrounds it is breathtaking. And the water is so refreshing.

Located near Hot Springs this Army Corps of Engineers lake is the largest lake in the State of Arkansas and has several islands surrounded by the Ouachita mountains. It has natural beauty at every turn, including a terrific swimming hole known as Crystal Springs Beach. This area makes you feel like you're in Hawaii.

Located in the Ozark Mountains of northwest Arkansas Kings River, it is connected to the Kings River Falls, which is a favorite for visitors from everywhere. Just look at that waterfall.

The name says it all. It's located near Pelsor in the rugged terrain of the Ozark National Forest and this is another great place to gather for a swimming party.

Arkansas is the Natural State for a reason and any trip to a swimming holen is well worth the short time it takes to visit.
