Texarkana Police Vehicle Pursuit & Fatality Crash Over Weekend
One person is dead and another injured with non-life threatening injuries as Texarkana Arkansas Police were trying to make a traffic stop with three motorcyclists early Sunday morning, July 21.
According to the press release from the TAPD the incident happened at 1 AM Sunday. An officer with the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department tried to make a traffic stop on three motorcycles, in the 3600 block of Arkansas Boulevard, but all the motorcyclists fled and police pursued them.
Then as one of the motorcyclists started to drive through the Jefferson Avenue and Arkansas Boulevard intersection it crashed into a vehicle that was passing through the intersection. The vehicle was not part of the pursuit.
The TAPD stated in the press release,
the driver of the motorcycle was ejected and later pronounced deceased at Saint Michael’s Hospital, in Texarkana, Texas. The driver of the passenger vehicle sustained minor cuts and bruises and was treated on the scene by LifeNet.
The other two motorcyclists got away and have not been apprehended at the time of this writing. The Arkansas State Police are now investigating this crash.
