There is now an urgent recall on a popular sinus medication that is contaninated with a harmful bateria that could cause users to contract blood infections and worse.

The recall is on the popular SinuCleanse Soft Tip Squeeze Bottle Nasal Wash System. It is sold nationwide at stores like Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and online at Amazon.

The voluntary recall was announced by the FDA that the manufacturing company of the product Ascent Consumer Products Inc., discovered in testing that it could be contaminated with the microbial Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). This can result into a blood infection and result into secondary infections according to the press release and lead to,

bone and joint infections, splenic abscesses or meningitis, and bacterial sinusitis which may lead to eye tissue infections, vision problems, cranial nerve damage, or meningitis.

The contaminated product is,

SinuCleanse Soft Tip Squeeze Bottle Nasal Wash System with a lot number of 024122661A1 and expiration date 12-31-2027 You can find this information on the side of the box and also on the packets of saline that came with the item. This lot hit stores in January 2025.

Please check your medicine cabinet and if you have one of these Do Not Use It. You can either return it to the store you bought it at for a refund or just throw it away. But do not use it.
