Serious Medicine Recall in Arkansas - Time To Check Cabinets

Watch out Arkansas. It's time to check those medicine cabinets, Haleon, the company that owns Robitussin, has issued a massive voluntary recall on one of its popular cough medicines. If you take this instead of making your cough better, you could end up in the hospital or worse.

Haleon has initiated a voluntary recall of eight batches of Robitussin Honey CF Max Day Adult, as well as Robitussin Honey CF Max Nighttime Adult cough medicines, they say microbial contamination as the reason for the recall.

This is serious, the affected product poses a potential risk of severe and/or life-threatening adverse events, especially for immunocompromised individuals, such as fungemia or disseminated fungal infection. For non-immunocompromised consumers, who constitute the primary user base, are far less likely to experience life-threatening infections, the potential for an infection requiring medical intervention cannot be entirely ruled out.

At the time of the recall announcement, Haleon had not received any reports of adverse events associated with the product.

Robitussin Honey CF Max Day and Nighttime are cough syrups designed to temporarily relieve symptoms associated with cold or flu, hay fever, or other respiratory allergies.
