The Texarkana College Foundation is honored to announce a substantial $75,000 gift from the Wadley Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. This donation creates an endowment to support scholarships for students in TC’s Nursing and Health Science programs, including those pursuing pre-med degrees.

The Auxiliary, which served the Texarkana region for over 60 years, is distributing its funds for the final time following the recent closing of Wadley Regional Medical Center. This generous gift ensures the group's long legacy of service continues through education.

“We are proud to be able to donate this endowment to Texarkana College to be used for student scholarships,” said Carol Collom Stoner, Auxiliary President and 13-year volunteer. “Our region always has a nursing shortage, and these scholarships will go to help students who in the future will help local communities.”

Honoring a 60-Year Legacy of Service Placement

The Auxiliary has been a consistent supporter of Texarkana College students, providing nursing scholarships since 2018. Longtime member Judy Sander added, “The donation from the Auxiliary group to Texarkana College’s nursing program will continue to help build a strong medical community for our region as it has for many years.”

Though the Auxiliary will no longer exist as a 501(c)(3), many members continue to volunteer at the Christus Health Pine Street location, supporting the gift shop and information desk.
