Whataburger on State Line Temporarily Closed for Major Upgrades
Did you know that the Whataburger on North State Line Avenue in Texarkana, Arkansas is temporarily closed?
Upgrades and Renovations
I found out this morning when I was stopping by for a breakfast taquito and the entrance was closed down with a barricade. I noticed several construction workers in the parking lot and working around the building. According to a sign out front major improvements and renovations are being done inside and out.
How Long Will It Be Closed?
Restaurant manager WaShawna Franklin told the Texarkana Gazette that the restaurant is expected to be temporarily closed for 6 weeks maximum. If everything goes according to plan and there are no delays the fast-food chain should be back open by the middle of June.
For now, Whataburger fans can travel across town to the Texas-side location when they get that Whataburger craving. It's been quite a while since the State Line store has had a major upgrade and in my mind it's long overdue.
The first Whataburger opened on August 8, 1950, in a small metal building in Corpus Christi, Texas. As of March 2024, there are 940 Whataburger locations in the United States and 14 states.
Now there are some 890 Whataburger locations nationwide.
