We knew there was a winner. We just weren't sure of who it was or if they knew they were the winner. A lucky man from Yell County just scored the biggest Arkansas-only jackpot in the state's history. He won the massive $5.123 million on the February, 1 LOTTO drawing.

The winning ticket was bought through Lotto.com with the matching the numbers 1, 6, 7, 19, 27, and 40, and the Bonus Number 14.

When we were wondering if they even knew they had won this guy was busy on his way to claim his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center in Little Rock on Monday, February 3, just two days after the big draw.

He told ASL officials,

What a weekend!

The winner who has decided to stay anonymous (which is a smart move!) is a regular lottery player. He plays the big ones like Powerball®, Mega Millions®, and Natural State Jackpot. When he noticed that the LOTTO jackpot was over $5 million, he decided it was time to take a chance.

On Saturday, the day of the drawing, he bought two Quick Pick tickets through Lotto.com.

When his numbers matched he just thought that can't be right, his wife thought the same thing.

His wife said,

We thought it was a hoax.

They have only told close family and a few trusted friends. What will they do with the money? First is to wipe out all their debts, then set up a good retirement fund saying they plan on doing this smart.

That LOTTO jackpot has reset and now sits at $265,000 for the next drawing on Saturday night. It's the only game that is an Arkansas-only draw game giving locals more chances to win big.
