5 Best Donut Shops in Texarkana

Do you love donuts?  I don't know about you, but I love donuts!

When I was a kid growing up in Texarkana, two of my favorite places to go eat donuts were Shorty's, which at that time was located on Lake Drive, and Shipley's Donuts, which is no longer here but is still in business nationwide.

If you live around here, there are several donut shops that will tempt your taste buds and satisfy your sweet tooth. Here are my Top 5 favorite places to enjoy donuts around Texarkana.

1. Shorty's Donuts and Diner located in Oaklawn Village Shopping Center has been an icon in Texarkana for years, serving fresh made Southern Maid donuts and other pastries for generations. Shorty's also serves up home cooked meals daily.

2. Yummy's Donut Palace, located at the corner of East 7th and Hickory, is home to some of the best donuts around. Their donuts are made fresh daily with a variety to choose from. They also have breakfast sandwiches and my favorite is the Earl Campbell sausage link.

3. Donut Cafe on Richmond Road has fast become one of Texarkana's favorite places to eat donuts and fresh made bagels. With a full range of breakfast items to choose from, make sure you try their famous apple fritters. They're so tasty and delicious.

4. Dandy Donuts, located on Texas Boulevard, is another one of my favorite places. My mother used to love eating here and she was the one who introduced me to this place. They have a variety of donuts and you have to try their fresh made cinnamon rolls. What can I say but "yummy?"

5. Daylight Donuts is located at the corner of Jefferson and East 35th Streets. They have some great donuts and pastries and the service is always fast and friendly.

I'm sure some of these are your favorites as well, or you may know of a place that I didn't mention. But with that being said, nothing cheers up your coworkers more than a box of freshly made donuts to help jump start their day.
