Back in the summer of last year, I told you about a new state-of-the-art playground that was being constructed in the City of Farmers Branch, Texas a suburb in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

Great News!

Joya at Oran Good Park has officially opened and welcomed families and children to come to play in the all-accessible glow-in-the-dark first-of-its-kind playground in the U.S.

The 18,000 square-foot play space includes a main playground area and a fenced-in tot play area. One of the highlights of the new playground is a 27-foot futuristic domed sphere where children can climb inside and slide down.

Crown Jewell

The name Joya comes from the word "Jewell" translated into Spanish and the city is hoping that this new playground will become the crown jewel of Farmers Branch. The name Joya was also chosen to represent 45 percent of Farmers Branch's Hispanic or Latino heritage.
