It can get super hot in our area during the summer months and when you are on a fixed income that air condition bill can get way too high. But what if you have no air conditioning? That's why the Ark Tex Council of Governments is having their annual fan drive right now.

They are in need of fans to distribute to seniors and others who have no air conditioning. To qualify you or someone you know needs to be 60 years of age or older and is a Texas resident then be sure to call the ArkTex Council of Governments at 1-800-372-4464.

They are looking for new fans or a monetary donation. Be sure to drop off your donation of a new fan or money to the Ark Tex Council of Governments office at 4808 Elizabeth Street in Texarkana, Texas. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8AM to noon and then from !PM to 5PM. Then they will distribute the fans to those individuals who qualify.
