If you live on the Texas side and want your children to learn handgun safety and shooting skills, then I have great news, Bowie County 4-H is forming its first ever Pistol Club.

Texas-side kids ages 9 to 18 are invited to learn pistol shooting skills and safety through this new program with the Bowie County 4-H and Bowie County Extension.

Learn handgun safety, shooting skills, slow fire target, rapid fire target and Youth Steel Challenge. You will get to compete in local, regional, state and national tournaments and win prizes for top shooter.

Robert Haley will be the pistol coach along with assistance from Jimmy Curtis, Brad Tucker, Wes Haley and Darrell Williams.

Practice and competitions will take place at the Texarkana Gun Club on FM 2149 between Maud and Red Water. The first practice is set for Thursday, September 12 at 6:00 p.m.
