Career Day is the name given to a community-wide job fair and resource event to be held at Texarkana College on March 2 from 9:00AM to 4:00PM in the Truman Arnold Center.

Career Day boasts the motto, “One day can change a life” in its 2017 campaign to reduce unemployment in Northeast Texas.  Community Services of Northeast Texas, Inc. (CSNT) is partnering with area employers and community resource providers to bring opportunity to those interested in employment.

Job seekers will have access to a variety of employers seeking talented candidates in industrial, health, finance, education, telecommunications, hospitality, and other industries.

In addition to bringing Career Day employers from Bowie County and several surrounding counties, CSNT will provide access to many helpful community resources.  These resources include job search preparation and resources on health, food, and education.  Special résumé writing workshops are being held throughout the area prior to the event.

Career Day is also an opportunity for families with children enrolled in Head Start to establish strategies for working toward financially self-reliant lives.  Family case managers will be on hand for assistance.

CSNT provides outreach, case management, utility assistance, and other services in Bowie, Camp, Cass, Delta, Franklin, Hopkins, Lamar, Marion, Morris, Raines, Red River, and Titus counties.  CSNT also operates Head Start, a federally funded family improvement and early child education program in Bowie, Camp, Cass, and Marion counties.

This event is free and open to anyone seeking information about employment, community resources, or CSNT’s full array of services.

For more information, or to sign up for one of the résumé workshops, call 903-756-7784, ext. 19.  For directions on the day of the event, call 903-748-8145.
