This missing cat is named Gunther. The family traveling with him is from New Mexico and stopped at the Texas side tourist bureau in Texarkana. One of their cats rolled down the window and this cat got out.

This week's dog is Ray! She was named such because she is such a ray of sunshine and happiness even though she has been in the last kennel on the adoption floor for a few months now.

Come the adoption event at Petsmart on Saturday and visit with the volunteers from Texarkana Animal League, Muttley Crew Rescue, Passion for Pooches Rescue, Boxer Rescue of Texarkana and Little Paws Rescue. There will be tons of dogs--little and big as well as kittens available for adoption on Saturday.

Meet Rudey! He is a male terrier mix waiting at the Texarkana animal shelter to be adopted. When he first came to the shelter several months ago he was a bit of a fighter but now this little guy has had a full transformation! He couldn't wait to run and play with other dogs. You have got to watch the video of this little guy in action!

The fourth annual Paws on the Pavement at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Spring Lake Park benefiting Kylee's P.A.W.S. for a Cause. There will be a 5k run/walk race. Lots of family fun and, of course, dogs are welcome.
