Summer is starting to slip away but there is still plenty of time to take advantage of great events that are only a short drive away. If you are in the Dallas Fort Worth area then you should really check out the Ft. Worth Botanic Garden and see a renowned sculpture exhibit.

The exhibit is called ZimSculpt and features over 100 sculptures by Zimbabwean artists. The sculptures are known as Shona sculptures and they are displayed throughout the garden. Some of these are up to seven feet tall.

The unique thing about this exhibit is that you can watch some of the artists sculpt right in front of you using chisels, hammers, files and sandpaper to create beautiful works of art. All the pieces of art displayed in the garden are for sale. When a piece is sold, it's replaced by a different sculpture so the exhibit constantly changes.

The founder of ZimSculp is Vivienne Prince, if you get a chance to talk with her please do! She's a sweetheart and a lot of fun!  There is also a Marketplace at the garden offering a big selection of hand-held to medium-sized sculptures.

This exhibit will run through Sunday, July 30.  Find out more information at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens or at ZimSculpt.com
