Good Tuesday, Here are some stories making headlines today:
The Texarkana Texas Independent School District will hold a board of trustees meeting this morning at 11:30 am at the T.I.S.D. Adminstration Building. The board will hold a board planning workshop and also here other personnel issues as well. Also on the agenda is consideration and approval of classroom addition at Highland Park Elementary School.
The Cosmetology Department at Texarkana College has a series of fundraisers scheduled over the next month. They are:
August 2nd at Chicken Express on West 7th Street from 6 to 8pm.
August 6th- Yard Sale at Texarkana College from 8 am to 12 noon.
August 13th- A bike wash at Whisky River Harley Davidson near Wal-mart from 10am to 4pm.
August 18th- A bake sale at Texas Side Wal-Mart from 5 to 8pm
September 1st- A bake sale at Texas Side Wal-Mart from 5 to 8pm.
All proceeds benefit the Cosmetology Department at Texarkana College.
The 4th Annual Four State 4-H Day is slated for this Thursday August 4th at the Four States Fairgrounds for ages 9-18 years old. You do not have to be a 4-H Member to attend. Registration begins at 9:15 am in the Ag Learning Center with activities ending around 2:35 pm.
They encourage participants to preregister by contacting Jennifer Wood at the Ag Learning Center at (870) 774-6455 or emailing her at firstname.lastname@example.org or by contacting your local County Extension Agent.
Lunch will be provided by Farm Credit Services of Western Arkansas-Texarkana, Arkansas. There will be various activities including a mobile dairy classroom, basic horse health care, horse showing, snake wildlife program, sprouting plant fun, stacking it up in the kitchen, outdoor adventure, archery, shooting sports and stem experience.
