J.W.’s News Update: Wednesday November 9, 2011

A shooting incident in Texarkana, Texas sends two people to the hospital. Texas side police say they were sent to the 3100 block of Meadows Drive early today in reference to shots fired.  They stopped a vehicle trying to leave the scene and located a victim with a gunshot wound to the chin.

While officers were at the hospital a second victim with a gunshot wound to the hand arrived from the same location. Investigators believe the shootings to be drug related. A third individual believed to be the shooter is being sought by authorities.

Arkansas Voters approved renewing a $575 million dollar bond program to repair 400 miles of interstate highways.

Meanwhile Texas voters approved 7 of 10 consitutional amendments in yesterday's voting.

Penn State Football Coach Joe Paterno has decided to retire at the end of this season. The 84 year old coach of the Nittany Lions says he is " absolutely  devestated" by the  developments in the case of Jerry Sandusky, a former defensive coordinator accused of molesting at least  8 boys over a 15 year period.
