A  Dense Smoke Advisory continues in effect until tonight for portions of Northeast Texas.  This due to continuing wildfires in several counties.  The advisories include Cass County, as well as, Marion, Morris, Titus, Camp, Upshur, Wood, Harrison, Gregg, Smith, Rusk, Cheokee, Panola, Shelby, Nacogdoches, and Angelina Counties in Eastern Texas.

So far 6 structures have been destroyed in the Cass and Marion County Fires alone. Mandatory Evacuations are in place along U.S. 59 down to and including Jefferson and to the West.

For Cass County evacuees needing information on when they can return to their homes, they should call the Cass County Sheriffs Office at (903) -756-7511. Community Services of Northeast Texas, Inc. are providing assistance to those who have lost their homes due to the wildfires in Cass County. Texas Governor Rick Perry, who has been busy monitoring the wildfire fight in the State of Texas will turn to politics tonight. Perry will be with the other GOP Presidential Candidates as they debate each other at the Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley California.

Perry and Former Massachussetts Governor Mitt Romney are leading in the polls heading into a series of Republican debates across the country over the next few weeks.

The Texas Rangers were winners last night in Tampa beating the Rays 8-0 as C.J. Wilson picked up his 15th victory of the season. David Murphy and Ian Kinsler homered for the Rangers in the victory.
