There is something for everyone this weekend at the movies in Texarkana. I will be curious with the movie  ‘Total Recall’ which is Rated PG-13 and ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days’ which is, of course, a movie my tweenager wants to see. (PG) Great movies to take in this weekend and stay away from the heat by enjoying a movie in a cool place.

‘Total Recall’ looks like a remake of the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger movie with updates and a few changes. Action thriller where reality and memory clash. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man.

‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days’ is a family comedy where Greg Heffley, the hero of the ‘Wimpy Kid’ book series, pretends to have a summer job at a ritzy country club. Things do not go as planned though. He has embarrassing mishaps at a public pool and a camping trip goes horribly wrong.

Here’s a sneak peek.
