Heading into the last weekend before Halloween there are plenty of surprises at the box office-  from epic to adventurous, from funny to spooky, and yes, even fun-size. Cloud Atlas with Tom Hanks looks intriguing and is my pick for this week.

Cloud Atlas is the latest film from the Wachowskis, the folks behind The Matrix trilogy, and director Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run). It tells a story that spans the ages—from the distant past to the present to the far-off future—this epic shows us how our choices and feelings shape the future and inspire others.

In Chasing Mavericks a young surfer discovers he has a rare opportunity to surf a huge wave and sets out to train for the biggest break of his life with the help of an old pro, played by Gerard Butler.

Fun Size is a cute outing for the whole family about a teen just trying to get to a party hosted by the guy she has a crush on, but she's been saddled with babysitting her little brother. Things get out of hand when the little guy goes missing and she spends the whole night tracking him down.

Silent Hill: Revelation is a sequel that follows a young woman whose father goes missing, forcing her to enter the alternate reality of Silent Hill to track him down and unravel the mystery of the nightmares that have plagued her since childhood.
