Relentless to Kick Off Sparks in the Park

Sparks in the Park will be held Saturday, June 25, at the Four States Fairgrounds in Texarkana. This fun-filled event will begin at 4PM and this year we're proud to announce that the band Relentless will kick off Sparks on Saturday evening. 

Relentless brings a new experience to live performance venues. Lead vocals are Duane Torres and Tifani Halter, coupled with vocals from Michael Howard and newest member Chris Gray, who by the way is engaged to Tifani. Relentless is backed up on drums by Duane's father Esteban Torres.

Relentless is well known for playing Top 40 country hits along with Red Dirt and Texas country songs we all know and love. But Relentless is not just a cover band. They write and sing original music too, such as "Time Machine," a song they performed in the Kicker studio.

"Cigarettes and Gasoline," "You Ain't Leaving Me Tonight," and "Before We Go Down In Flames" are just some of the songs that set this band apart.

Duane told me they are currently working on their first single, "Arkansas."

"I began writing this song two years ago and got stuck, a bad case of writer's block, and didn't know which direction this song would take me. The riff kept going through my head and I kept playing it over and over until I was finally able to finish it." he said. "But I am very happy the way it turned out."

The band plans to record the single this week and a video will eventually be shot as well. Relentless is working on a new album that should be ready for release later this summer.

While so many artists have musical heroes, Duane said his dad was his biggest inspiration.

"My dad was on the road for many years. He was the one who used to take me to all his gigs and turned me onto the music scene," he said.

Duane did say his favorite singer is Jason Aldean, so expect some Jason during their show. You may notice that their logo Relentless is backwards, "Did it for no reason other than it looks cool," he said, laughing.

The band is super excited about bringing their music to fans at this year's Sparks in the Park. And when you see this band perform the name says it all -- Relentless!
