The Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter is the only completely free shelter serving adult men and women in an 85-mile radius. Their mission is to serve the homeless. In the first eight months of 2014, 100 people have moved from the Shelter into permanent housing. The nights of shelter provided have increased 14% over the same time period last year, and 22% from the same time period in 2010.
The Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter was developed as a product of a labor of love. Founded in 1996, the Shelter’s mission is to meet the immediate needs of safe temporary lodging and food for the poor and homeless who come into our midst until their return to self-sustained community life.
