Country Cares

Well, it's a story that I would not want to share publicly, but on the air we said if we got a $1,000 donation for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, I would tell this story on the radio and video it. Then, we got two $1,000 donations!

Texarkana and the surrounding area is full of good people. Listeners called in to make donations to our "Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon" and raised $88,620 to help save the lives of children with Cancer.

The folks at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital teamed up with GoPro Productions and Darius Rucker to make this video for this song inspired by a St. Jude patient that defied the odds. The song is called "Possibilities".

All of us at Kicker are passionate about St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and all the great things they do. Many people might not be aware of how the whole concept of the hospital started. It started with a prayer.

On a recent tour of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital I had the opportunity to see some art work from some of the children undergoing treatment. These are powerful, and something you must see.

I recently attended the St. Jude Seminar for the upcoming radiothon to raise money for the amazing work they do in the fight to eradicate childhood cancers. I want to share a little bit with you.

We just finished up our Kicker 102.5 Country Cares For St. Jude Kids radiothon raising $45, 584. And this year marked the very first time we teamed up with our other Townsquare Media country stations nationwide to raise $1,059,783 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital March 6-7 on the air and online.

The 2014 Country Cares For St Jude Kids radiothon was a huge success thanks to all of our awesome Kicker listeners. This year we raised $45,584 to help fight childhood cancer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We also gave away some terrific prizes thanks to our participating sponsors.

The 2014 Country Cares For St. Jude Kids Radiothon is now underway now through Friday. Each year Kicker 102.5 sets aside two days to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
