Texarkana Prepares For Solar Eclipse Visitors in April

Can you believe we are just a few months away from the total solar eclipse? With Texarkana being in the direct line of the eclipse both the Cities of Texarkana, Texas and Texarkana, Arkansas formed a committee to prepare and plan for this huge event on April 8, 2024.

That committee has been meeting and planning for a while, but now they need our help. They are asking Texarkana residents and businesses to get involved and help promote our city for this event.

James Bramlett, former mayor, Chamber of Commerce chairman, and President of Farmers’ Bank and Trust said in a press release,

We have this huge opportunity this Spring to show off what Texarkana has to offer the world as visitors come from all over to view the solar eclipse right here. We have amazing food, and unique tourism attractions, and southern hospitality that truly can’t be matched. We’re just a few short months away from our moment to shine.

Texarkana will have a lot of visitors coming in for the event on the weekend before the total eclipse. So the committee as deemed it Texarkana's "Solarbration".

This will be a great time to show the world Texarkana and why it's such a great place to visit. There is now a website called solarbrationtxk.com, that will show visitors great places to visit and to experience everything that Texarkana has to offer.

Denis Washington, committee chair and President of the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce said they are promoting Texarkana as a place to come to in areas that are a short drive away.

Bramlett is asking businesses and the community to help spread the word.

I’d like to see every business in town acknowledge Solarbration with a sign, promotion, product, or something similar April 5th-8th. Let’s show the world what Texarkana is all about.
