The Texarkana Police Department and the Texarkana Fire Marshall's Office say a local woman is facing charges after allegedly setting several fires this past weekend.

Authorities are charging 35 year old Stormmi Cole in connection with a dumpster fire next to the O'Reilly Auto Parts on the Texas side of State Line Avenue and another inside a bathroom at the Renaissance Apartments at County Avenue and East 24th Street on the Arkansas side of the city.

The incidents were reported within minutes of each other Sunday night.

No injuries were reported, however the Texarkana Arkansas Fire Marshall Stephen Johnson says a dumpster fire is one of the more dangerous type of fire encountered by firefighters. This is due to the nature of the items that people dispose of in a dumpster. Often, flammable materials or aerosol cans are disposed of that can combust quickly and "explode" without warning. Due to this, firefighters tasked with extinguishing the dumpster fire are at a high risk of serious physical harm or death.

A warrant for Reckless Burning was obtained for the dumpster fire and a warrant of Arson was obtained for the apartment fire.  Both are felony warrants. Cole is being held at the Bi-State Justice Building on a Criminal Mischief charge that the Texarkana Texas Police Department has on her.  She will then be extradited to Arkansas to face charges for the Reckless Burning and Arson.
