Come out and watch your favorite Deejays perform at the 10th annual “Jeans & Bling” fundraiser which is planned for 7 p.m., October 12th at the Texarkana Convention Center.  All proceeds benefit Hospice of Texarkana.

The nonprofit agency will celebrate a decade of dazzle with the biggest party yet featuring:  Live music and dancing with the Texas Unlimited Band, a Texas Barbeque buffet, raffles, huge silent auction and a lip sync competition.  Tickets for the adult event cost $60 and include the live music, performances, food and two drink tickets.

A crowd favorite at the event is the Lip Sync Battle which features local celebrities in costumes doing dance routines.  The winners are chosen by whomever receives the most votes.  Votes are cast with dollars, so $1 equals one vote.  The Lip Sync Battle will begin at 8 p.m.

"I am honored to be the emcee once again for this great organization," said, Mario Garcia

This year’s competitors include:  Power 95-9 Deejay Wes, with Kicker 102.5 Deejays Jim and Lisa, along with Station Manager Brian Sines; Whitney Long and Team from Twin City Cheer; and, John Ross and Lisa Shoalmire of Ross & Shoalmire.

If you cannot attend, but want to vote for your favorite Lip Sync group, you can drop by the station and put money in the ballot box or vote online here:  hospiceoftexarkana.org/online_giving/index.html

“Part of what draws attendees is the meaningful cause they are helping and I think others love that men can wear their jeans or pressed khakis, button downs and hats, if desired,” said Stefanie Brazile, Director of Development & PR.  “For the ladies, it’s Western Chic which encompasses jeans, skirts or cute dresses with heels or boots.  Adding blingy jewelry is a must!”

Hospice of Texarkana has cared for seriously ill people in SW Arkansas and NE Texas for 34 years.  The money made from this signature fundraiser will be used to support their $5.5 million, 12-bed care center which was built in 2016 and is located on Galleria Oaks in Texarkana, Texas.

“In nine years, we have cleared $465,000 which has been used to pay-down the note of the Hospice of Texarkana Care Center which is the only one of its kind within 75-miles,” Brazile said.  “We are grateful for the community’s support of this nonprofit agency and our only fundraising event. Last year, 295 seriously ill people from this area received care at the unique facility.”
