The Ouachita County Historical Society along with Poison Spring State Park is sponsoring the 154th-Anniversary re-enactment of the Battle of Poison Spring. The events will be April 20-22, at Poison Spring Battleground State Park on Highway 76 outside of Camden, Arkansas.

Soldiers will camp at the battleground site Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday will be a school day with educational stations for students to experience life as a soldier during the Civil War. Sutlers, the purveyors of all things necessary for the soldier’s life will be camped in the park and vendors will be available Saturday and Sunday for refreshments. Saturday at 1:30PM a re-enactment of the battle will be held. The Camp will be open for visitors before and after the battle from 9:00 until 4:30PM.  A vintage Dance will be held Saturday evening starting at 5:30PM with instructors to teach dances of the era. Come in Costume or not and enjoy an evening of fun. Vendors will be available for visitors to have dinner in this beautiful park while we dance the evening away.
On Sunday there will be Soldiers Church at the park and the public is welcome. Sunday afternoon at 1:30PM there will be a re-enactment of the Battle of Moscow Church which will also be held at Poison Spring.
