TAPD’s ‘Citizen’s Police Academy’ Applications Now Being Accepted
When you think about hard jobs, what comes to mind? Two of the toughest that immediately pop into my head are Fire Fighters and Police. The importance of the general public understanding just how hard those jobs can be cannot be understated, that's why we highly recommend this training class as the perfect way for the rest of us to learn just how hard policing, keeping the public safe, really is.
The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD) is gearing up for its 2024 Citizen’s Police Academy, with applications due by Friday, August 9, 2024.
The academy offers an 8-week experience, providing insights into the daily functions of the police department and a chance to meet the officers who serve Texarkana. Participants will learn about various aspects of the department, including Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Crime Scene Investigations, SWAT, K-9, Dispatch, and Administration.
The classes run from September 10 to October 29, held every Tuesday evening from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the TAPD Training Room, located at 100 N. State Line Avenue, on the 1st floor.
To apply, email Public Information Officer Kristen Schultz at kristen.schultz@txkusa.org to receive an application. Hurry, as the class size is limited, and applications must be submitted by August 9.
