The ultimate bass fishing competition, the Super Bowl of all the bass fishing tournaments is the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Classic. It's headed to Texas for the fourth time and it will be held north of the Dallas Ft. Worth area this weekend, March 21 - 23.

With 56 anglers competing, Lake Ray Roberts is hosting the event for the second time. The classic was also held here back in 2021. Texas has hosted the event two other times, on Lake Conroe in 2017 and way back in 1979 at Lake Texoma.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife staff members will be there to assist the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (BASS) during the classic where they will be caring for fish and ultimately releasing them back into the lake at the end of each day. Weigh-ins will be held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth.
