Alert: Texarkana Road Work Construction Starts Thursday
When traveling to and from work this week in Texarkana be advised beginning on Thursday, Oct. 24, there will be road construction going on that will cause delays according to R.K. Hall Construction.
Expect Delays
The affected area will be on Westlawn Drive from IH 369 to US Highway 82 for resurfacing and repair. Initially, the outside lanes of Westlawn Drive will be closed, and once work on the inside lanes is finished, traffic will be shifted to those outer lanes. This phase of work is expected to last approximately three weeks. Motorists should expect delays in the work zone area and if possible if you're able to avoid this area it would be helpful to the workers doing the road construction.
Other Improvements Coming
Road work on Kennedy Lane from Richmond Road to Summerhill Road is scheduled to begin in two weeks. During this time, there will be temporary single-lane closures. This phase of work is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete the job.
Access to all properties, including residences, businesses, and schools, will be maintained, though motorists should plan for occasional delays.
