The Texarkana, Texas, Animal Control came upon a sad situation this past fall, and now they need your help.

A Heartbreaking Discovery in Texarkana

They posted a heartbreaking story on their Facebook page, that this past fall the Texarkana Texas Police Department responded to a call about a cat hoarder. It was a case of severe animal neglect.

This is a difficult post to share, but we’re hopeful it can lead to something good.
While the City of Texarkana, Texas Animal Control does not normally take in or house cats, there are rare situations where we must step in for the welfare and safety of the animals involved.

The Long Road to Recovery

Between 30 to 40 cats were in the home. Most of these poor cats were in poor health. Even with the help of local veterinarians, only six of them were able to survive and recover.
