Did you know that the state of Arkansas has a Food Hall of Fame? It's time to make your nominations. This program helps celebrate Arkansas and its culinary heritage.
Everyone has their favorite Restaurant so why not nominate them to be in the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame? There are other categories to make a nomination in as well.
Marty Ryall, director of the Division of Arkansas Heritage, said in a press release,
Everyone has a story to tell about food. In Arkansas, food is at the heart of our heritage. Whether it’s a meal prepared at home with family or a special dining experience, Arkansas’ food stories run deep. We are encouraging the public to share their stories with us by nominating for the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame.
Make Your Nominations Now For The Arkansas Food Hall of Fame
You can make your nominations between today (January 22) through Feb. 29, 2024.
Categories are:
Arkansas Food Hall of Fame – recognizing favorite restaurants that create the Arkansas food culture.
Proprietor of the Year – This category honors a chef, cook or restaurant owner who has had a significant impact on the local food scene.
Food-Themed Event – honors a community food-themed event or festival.
Gone But Not Forgotten – This one is special as it is in memory of past beloved establishments.
People’s Choice – This category is for restaurants or food trucks, new and old.
The Arkansas Food Hall of Fame Committee is composed of Arkansas chefs, historians and food authors. Finalists will be announced in May with the induction ceremony in September.
