Arkansas has some of the most beautiful lakes, rivers, and mountains. What better way to see the natural state than on a float trip?

Summer is calling for a great escape outdoors through some of Arkansas's rugged terrain and backwoods on a float trip you will never forget. Whether you enjoy floating on an inner tube, a canoe, or a kayak, adventure awaits you at every twist and turn in Arkansas.

Little Missouri River

The Little Missouri River has always been a hot spot for outdoor enthusiasts looking for adventure. This river begins in western Arkansas, southeast of Mena, and flows through the beautiful Ouachita National Forest with breathtaking mountain scenery, including the scenic Little Missouri Falls and Albert Pike recreation areas. Little Missouri Falls is a favorite vacation destination or weekend getaway where hikers and floaters can relax and cool off in the cascading waterfalls. The river flows past Murfreesboro, then southeast toward the lower Ouachita River, passing by the Crater of Diamonds State Park. The first float is from Albert Pike Recreation Area near Langley to Ark. 84, but there are several launching points along the river.

Cossatot River

This river is located near the small town of Wickes in the Ouachita Mountains, flowing southward, forming the Cossatot Falls, a rocky canyon with white water rapids, bluffs, and waterfalls that will challenge even the most experienced thrill-seeker. The Brushy Creek Recreation Area offers picnic tables, hiking trails, camping sites, and more. There's even a nearby sandbar with some of the most incredible scenery you have ever seen. This park-natural area extends for 12 miles along the National Wild and Scenic Cossatot River.
