Arkansas State Police Bust 2 More on I-40

Last Saturday, June 15, 2024, Arkansas State Police (ASP) conducted a traffic stop on a white Mitsubishi SUV on Interstate 40 East near the 79-mile marker in Pope County. The stop, prompted by a traffic violation, led to a significant discovery.

During the vehicle search, ASP Troopers found 10 pounds of high-grade illegal marijuana and two weapons. The seized weapons included a .300 Blackout Pistol, which is an AR-style pistol, the but of which can be seen sticking out of the bag in the photo below, and a Glock 30 with an illegal aftermarket "switch" attachment which makes the pistol fully automatic.

The occupants of the vehicle, William Morgan, 23, from Alton, Illinois, and Jahmezze Holman, 25, from Waco, Texas, were arrested and transported to the Pope County Detention Center.

William Morgan faces multiple felony charges, including Perpetrating a Crime with a Machine Gun, Possession with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms.
Jahmezze Holman is charged with felony Possession with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Firearms by a Certain Person, and Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms.

Morgan informed investigators that they were traveling from Oklahoma City to West Memphis.

The arrests highlight the ongoing efforts of Arkansas State Police to curb drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession in the state.
