Arkansas Woman Wins $1 Million Dollars Off a Scratch-Off Ticket
An Arkansas woman was surprised to find out her scratch-off ticket was worth 1 million dollars from the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery last week.
The woman who has decided to remain anonymous is from Alexander, Arkansas. She bought the $20 Riches game scratch-off ticket at the Vimy Food Mart in Alexander.
When she realized she had the big winning ticket she told the ASL officials her first thought was
I'm rich!
According to the press release, she said the first person she told was her mother. She plans to use the money to pay bills and buy a house. This win makes her the 94th person that has won $1 million or more in the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery since it began back in 2009.
The retailers that sell a winning ticket receive a 1% commission, which means Vimy Food Mart will receive a $10,000 commission check.
Talk about a lucky day. The odds of winning $1 million in the Riches scratch-off game is 1 in 800,000. But it only takes that one ticket.
You could be the lucky one Tuesday night with The Mega Millions jackpot currently at $272 million.
Have you ever won big with the lottery? The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has been doing great things with its money. Did you know that the ASL has raised over $1.2 billion in proceeds for more than 675,000 scholarships? And that number just keeps growing.
