There were quite a few "routine traffic stops" on Christmas Eve around the state, but one led Arkansas State Police (ASP) to a major drug bust on Interstate 40.

At approximately 6:50 PM on December 24, 2024, troopers pulled over a white 2021 Ford F150 near the 165-mile marker in Lonoke County for a simple traffic violation. During the stop, officers had cause to search the truck’s bed and uncovered 207 vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana hidden in six large suitcases. Each package weighed roughly 1.2 pounds, with the total haul amounting to 248 pounds.

It would appear that a number of people ended up missing out on one of their anticipated stocking stuffers this year. (Deliverous-Interruptous)

The driver turned out to be 53-year-old Xiong Ren of Chickasha, Oklahoma. Ren was arrested and taken to the Lonoke County Detention Center. Now Ren is facing felony charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver and Unauthorized Use of Another Person’s Property to Facilitate a Crime.

According to authorities, Ren claimed he was traveling to Wisconsin for Christmas.

Kudos to the Arkansas State Troopers, God bless you for what you do, may he continue to watch over you.

I'm wondering if they trade cheese for it up there in Wisconsin. Probably not.
