
Katie Martin Named District Engineer for TxDOT Atlanta District
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has appointed Katie Martin, P.E., as the new district engineer for the Atlanta District, effective November 1.
Martin to Lead Nine-County East Texas TxDOT Region
In her new role, Martin will oversee the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the state highway system for most of East Texas, including; Bowie, Camp, Cass, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Panola, Titus, and Upshur Counties.
“It’s an honor to serve the people of this district,” Martin said. “I will work hard to continue the momentum and deliver projects that serve East Texas.”
Longtime TxDOT Leader and Community Volunteer
A 24-year TxDOT veteran, Martin most recently served as director of transportation planning and development and previously as advance planning engineer. She began her career in 2001 after earning a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Louisiana State University.

A lifelong Atlanta resident, Martin volunteers with Cub Scouts, AWANA, the Atlanta Education Foundation, and the Atlanta Athletic Boosters Board. She and her husband Jeff have two sons who attend Atlanta ISD.
“I’m grateful to serve as district engineer where I grew up,” she said. “This is home.”
