Mardi Gras is always a time for a lot of fun and big parades. This weekend is the last weekend to enjoy a couple of big parades in Shreveport. 

The first big parade is Krewe of Gemini this Saturday, February 22

This parade begins at 3:30 p.m. Parade begins in downtown Shreveport at Clyde Fant Parkway at Lake Street, follows Clyde Fant Parkway south, and will continue through the Broadmoor neighborhood.  According to their website:

This parade is one of the largest Mardi Gras parades in northern Louisiana, the Krewe of Gemini Mardi Gras Parade has been named a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society. The parade features large, colorful floats, marching bands, and much more.

 

The second big one is the Krewe of Highland Mardi Gras Parade on Sunday, February 23 it will start at 2PM. The parade will begin at the intersection of Gregg Avenue and Gilbert Drive and follows a circular route through the historic Highland neighborhood.
