Bowie-Cass Electric Cooperative Awards 5 Scholarships In East Texas
Bowie-Cass Electric Cooperative is pleased to announce the five students to receive its 2024 scholarships. The students have been awarded a total of $8,000.
These scholarships are made possible through unclaimed capital credit refunds and highlight BCEC's commitment to supporting educational growth within the communities they serve.

Top Scholarship of $4,000 Recipient
Hannah Vissering of Paul H. Pewitt High School received the top scholarship of $4,000 for her outstanding academic performance and community involvement.
Four $1,000 Scholarships Were Awarded to These Four Students
Sophia Greer from Linden-Kildare High School
Isabella McKinney from Hughes Springs High School
Gerson Mendoza from DeKalb High School
Amori Shelling from Atlanta High School
All of these students have shown their remarkable academic and extracurricular achievements. Congratulations to all the scholarship recipients.

BCEC every year also awards 10 local high school students an all-expense paid trip to attend the East Texas Rural Electric Youth Seminar. Plus, they host a yearly essay competition where two students win the Government-in-Action Youth Tour, a 10-day guided trip to Austin and Washington, D.C.
