Thefts and Assaults, Top Bowie County Sheriff’s Weekly Calls

Bowie County Deputies had a busy week to end September and kick off October with 75 total arrests around Texarkana and the surrounding area. Sheriff Jeff Neal reports that BCSO deputies arrested 28, while other law enforcement agencies brought in an additional 47.

Bowie County, Texas Crime Summary

Property Crimes

Deputies investigated nine theft-related incidents, including:
Two thefts of cameras (security and game).
Two thefts of U.S. currency totaling over $2,300.
One theft of timber.
One theft of construction gravel.
One theft of mail.
Two other thefts involving property valued between $750 and $2,500.

There were also two reports of criminal trespass and one report of suspicious circumstances.

Assaults & Threats

Deputies handled eight assault-related cases, including:
Four assaults causing bodily injury.
Three assaults involving family violence.
One assault on a public servant.

Additionally, there was one terroristic threat against a public servant and one harassment report.

Fraud & Identity Crimes

Deputies investigated three reports of fraudulent use or possession of identifying information. There were also single cases of indecency with a child, sexual assault, and interference with child custody.

Animal-Related Calls

There were three animal-related incidents, including two reports of cruelty to non-livestock animals and one report of dogs dangerous to animals.

Warrants, Jail Sanctions & Commitments

Deputies served 14 warrants throughout the week, many related to probation violations, drug offenses, and agency holds.
There were four commitment sentences and three jail sanctions processed.

Other Activity

Deputies also responded to one building fire in Texarkana and continued assisting other agencies with ongoing investigations.
